ATTEMPTED CARJACKING IN PICKERING

At least four suspects are wanted by police following an attempted carjacking in Pickering over the weekend.

Durham Regional Police said officers responded last Saturday at approximately 11:10 p.m. to an unknown trouble call in the area of Glenanna and Kingston Rds.

According to police, a pizza delivery driver was delivering an order when he was approached by an unknown male. The suspect told the victim to make the delivery at another unit where he would be paid.

Police allege the suspect along with three additional males assaulted the victim and took his debit machine and car keys.

The four suspects then attempted to steal the victim’s vehicle, cops said, but fled the area on foot when area residents heard the commotion and stepped out of their homes.

Police said the victim wasn’t injured.

All four suspects are described by investigators as male, approximately 18 to 25 years-old and were all wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5535.
