Former NFL star Jack Brewer has voiced sharp criticism regarding the escalating unrest in Minnesota and the response from Democratic lawmakers. He suggests a core motivation behind the opposition to ICE’s actions isn’t humanitarian, but political – a fear of losing a voting bloc.
“We’re deporting their voters,” Brewer stated, arguing that the removal of individuals impacts the Democrats’ political strategies. He believes this is a critical, yet unspoken, element driving the current conflict and fueling the escalating tensions.
Brewer contends that a fundamental issue lies in the values of those entering the country. He asserts that importing cultures with differing moral frameworks can destabilize the existing societal foundation, specifically pointing to the situation unfolding in Minneapolis.
He described witnessing a disturbing trend during his 25 years of humanitarian work in developing nations. The values he observed were, in his view, incompatible with those he believes essential for a thriving American society, and he fears this disparity is being ignored.
Beyond immigration concerns, Brewer expressed deep worry about the state of mental health within Minneapolis itself. He called for a comprehensive city-wide assessment, believing a collective disconnect from reality has taken root.
Brewer urged decisive action, advocating for the deployment of the National Guard and the implementation of strict curfews. He emphasized the need for accountability and protection for law enforcement officers, demanding they be able to perform their duties without fear for their safety.
He reserved particularly strong criticism for Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, accusing him of actively exacerbating the volatile situation rather than providing leadership and upholding the law. Frey, Brewer believes, is intentionally fueling the chaos.
The Justice Department’s recent subpoenas issued to Frey, Governor Walz, Attorney General Ellison, and other Minnesota officials underscore the severity of the concerns. The investigation centers on statements made by Walz and Frey regarding interference with ICE operations.
Brewer’s perspective is particularly poignant given his past relationship with Mayor Frey, having accepted a key to the city in 2018. However, he now expresses regret, stating he would deny Frey entry if he had the power.
He accuses Frey of prioritizing appeasement of specific communities over upholding American culture and Christian values. This perceived betrayal has fueled Brewer’s outspoken stance against the current leadership.
Brewer has been vocal about witnessing widespread fraud involving what he describes as ‘Somali elites’ and their impact on the state’s economic landscape. He claims these activities are fundamentally altering the character of his home state.
He detailed observing high-end businesses undergoing transformations, suggesting a pattern of illicit activity and a deliberate reshaping of Minnesota’s economic and social fabric. These observations have solidified his concerns about the direction the state is heading.
