Claudia Winkleman has announced that she is leaving her chat show, citing that it's become too much for her to handle right now.
The show, which first aired in March, had a mixed reception from audiences and critics, with some feeling that Winkleman "slid into the background" as host. However, the show's viewing figures increased by 50% after it became available on iPlayer.
The launch episode of the show drew 2.5 million views in its first seven days, surpassing the viewing figures of rival chat show, Graham Norton. Despite the initial success, Winkleman has made the decision to step down from the show.

In a statement, Winkleman expressed her gratitude to the BBC for the opportunity to host the show, as well as to her guests and production team. She explained that she had tried to make the show work, but ultimately decided that it was not for her.
Winkleman stated, "Sometimes you have to try something to see how it fits, and I realised I was just too nervous to enjoy it. Maybe one day I will give it another try, but for now I already have the best jobs in the world and absolutely love the shows I’m doing."
The BBC has shown support for Winkleman's decision, with Director of Entertainment, Ed Havard, stating, "Claudia’s warmth and quick wit made The Claudia Winkleman Show an absolute joy. Whilst we loved the show, we fully respect her decision and would like to thank Claudia and the brilliant team at So Television for bringing the series to screen on the BBC."
Winkleman will still be returning to the BBC later this year to host The Celebrity Traitors, a spin-off of the popular reality show, The Traitors. The show is expected to feature a new cast of celebrities, and fans are eagerly anticipating Winkleman's return to the hosting chair.
