Initial attempts to launch the lifeboat were immediately thwarted. Monstrous three-meter waves crashed relentlessly against the slipway, threatening to topple the launching tractor and trailer. The sheer force of the sea rendered a water launch impossible, forcing rescuers to adapt quickly.
A dedicated 4x4 vehicle, carrying a specialized casualty care crew, raced towards Withernsea, battling the worsening conditions.
