HOME INVASION HORROR: HERO SHOT, 3 CRIMINALS BUSTED!

The quiet evening of November 4th shattered for a King Township resident when two armed men forcibly entered their home near Paradise Valley Trail and Fairmont Ridge Trail. The intrusion occurred around 6:23 p.m., plunging the neighborhood into fear and prompting an immediate police response.

A 39-year-old man, a neighbor who bravely intervened to help the homeowners, found himself confronting the intruders. In a shocking act of violence, he was shot before the assailants fled the scene, leaving him with injuries that, thankfully, were not life-threatening.

York Regional Police launched a meticulous investigation, piecing together the events of that night and relentlessly pursuing those responsible. The case remained active for over a year, demanding patience and unwavering dedication from the officers involved.

On February 26th, the investigation culminated in a series of coordinated raids across the Greater Toronto Area. Search warrants were executed in Grimsby, Toronto, and Oshawa, bringing the long hunt to a decisive end.

The raids involved a significant police presence, including the York Regional Police Emergency Response and Canine Units, alongside the Niagara Regional Police Emergency Task Unit. This coordinated effort led to the arrest of three male suspects.

Clayton McFarlane, 44, of Oshawa, faces the most serious charges, including attempt to commit murder, robbery with a firearm, and multiple firearm-related offenses. The charges reflect the gravity of his alleged involvement in the violent home invasion.

Darnyl Campbell, 33, of Grimsby, is also charged with attempt to commit murder and robbery with a firearm, alongside a charge of disguise with intent and possession for the purpose of trafficking. His alleged actions contributed directly to the terror experienced by the victims.

Andrew Dove, 39, of Toronto, was charged with failing to comply with a release order, indicating a prior involvement with the justice system. His connection to the home invasion is still being investigated.

Investigators have released photographs of the accused, expressing concern that they may be linked to other similar crimes in the region. This release aims to assist other jurisdictions and potentially uncover additional victims.

Anyone with information related to this case, or who believes they may have been a victim of similar incidents, is urged to contact the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit or Crime Stoppers. Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial to bringing further justice to light.
