McCaul stated that roughly 80 percent of Americans support provisions ensuring only citizens participate in federal elections. He framed the legislation as a response to broad public consensus rather than a policy shift.
The congressman also addressed the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2026, developed over the past year with the late Senator Lindsey Graham. McCaul indicated the bill would be introduced the following Monday with the potential to pass within the same week.
During the exchange, attention turned to the conflict involving Iran. McCaul credited recent military action as the first decisive response to a nuclear-capable Iran since 1979.
He noted that earlier negotiations toward a cease-fire and settlement with the Iranian regime had failed. According to McCaul, operations would resume to disable launch sites, drone capabilities, and missile systems.
The stated objective includes neutralizing targets inside Iran to secure the Strait of Hormuz. McCaul identified the waterway's open passage as the immediate strategic priority.
The conversation returned to the SAVE America Act after a clip showed outgoing Senator Tom Tillis opposing the measure. McCaul reiterated that the bill simply implements citizenship requirements already written into law.
He emphasized that public backing remains strong for verifying citizenship at the ballot box. The legislation, he argued, reflects a basic legal standard rather than a new restriction.
