The incident involved two suspects attempting to steal nearly $100,000 worth of designer goods, triggering a high-stakes confrontation with law enforcement.
Security staff first alerted the Irvine Police Department to the unfolding burglary, reporting suspicious activity captured on surveillance cameras. The footage revealed two individuals, cloaked in black hoodies and face masks, breaching the store’s perimeter by scaling a significant wall.
Once inside, the suspects targeted high-end brands like Celine and Givenchy, quickly filling their arms with stolen merchandise. They initially attempted to escape through an emergency exit, but abruptly changed course, fleeing up a flight of stairs in a desperate bid to evade capture.
However, their escape was short-lived. A team of heavily armed officers, including K9 units and drone support from the Costa Mesa Police Department, swiftly converged on the location. The suspects were located hiding near office spaces within the building.

Richard Bernard Spencer, 40, of Los Angeles, and Marcellus Ronell Shelby, 30, of Hollywood, now face multiple charges including burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, vandalism, and resisting arrest. They are currently being held in Orange County Jail, awaiting prosecution for their alleged crimes.
