EAST END ATTACK: Killer Behind Bars—But What REALLY Happened?

A Saturday afternoon in Toronto took a dark turn when a man was stabbed near Broadview and Danforth Avenues. The incident unfolded swiftly, leaving a victim hospitalized and a 21-year-old facing serious accusations.

Police responded to the scene at 4:09 p.m., arriving to find a victim who had been brutally attacked after a simple request was denied. The suspect, reportedly unhoused, allegedly demanded a cigarette from the victim, escalating into violence when refused.

The initial refusal sparked an assault, with the victim attempting to escape the escalating aggression. But the situation quickly worsened as the suspect allegedly brandished a knife, inflicting a stab wound before fleeing the area.

Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and they were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators confirmed the two individuals were complete strangers, adding a chilling element to the random act of violence.

The suspect’s actions didn’t end with the stabbing. Shortly after the assault, he allegedly entered a nearby store, selecting merchandise and then leaving without any intention of paying for the stolen goods.

Law enforcement quickly apprehended the suspect, identifying him as Lamarana Diallo. He now faces a multitude of charges, including assault, assault with a weapon, theft, possession of a weapon, and six counts of failing to comply with existing probation orders.
