Sam’s revelation came with a touch of humor, initially deflecting a playful suggestion from Pete that the surgery was preparation for a secret singing career. He then confirmed the reality: a cyst impacting his vocal cords needed to be removed.
Vocal cord cysts, though benign, can significantly affect voice quality, causing hoarseness and strain. These lesions often develop when glands in the throat become blocked, disproportionately impacting those who rely heavily on their voice for work or passion.
